Making a Quilt

The HQ has quilt kits availible to make. They can be done on machine, or by hand.

Although it is not required, quilt kits can be obtained and are completely pre-cut.  We do reccomend that you take this on as your first quilt for March of the Blanketeers to get the feel for our type of quilts.  But we do accept even more intricate things such as Nights' Star and Drunkard's Path.

It is also widely accepted by our chapters if you feel that a quilt kit isn't right for you; we will gladly take anything you have finished, so long as it adheres to our strict rule of nothing black.  If you want to make a Nights' Star quilt consider a batik, or a shimmery blue for the dark background parts.

Newborn blankets regardless of how they are made should be no bigger than a 3 foot BY 4.5 foot rectngle, and no smaller than a 2 foot square.

Children's Chemotherapy caps can be sewn, knit or crocheted, and must measure between 12-18 in height.  They can include a brim just like the one in the picture, and to be consider acceptable must measure a circumfernce of 22-27 inches.

Preemie Hats can be knit or crocheted, and should be 8-11 inches in circumference, and measure 5-7 inches in height.

Newborn hats should be a little bigger; measuring around 13-16 inches in circumference, and 7.5-11 inches in height.
